Queensland has the most romantic restaurants in Australia, according to a new survey, and local restaurants are quickly booking out in the lead-up to Valentine’s Day.

More than a third of the eateries in the top 50 annual list of most romantic restaurants in Australia – compiled by leading online restaurant reservations platform OpenTable – are in Queensland.
“That might speak towards restaurants in Queensland being more focused towards occasional dining or maybe people in Queensland are more thoughtful in terms of planning occasional dining,” said OpenTable senior restaurant relations manager Tim Domelow.

Most popular were high-end restaurants such as The Fish House in Burleigh Heads, Rickys River Bar in Noosa and Malt Dining in Brisbane’s CBD.
